The Essentials for great Automotive industry advertising and email marketing

  1. A Clear Value Proposition: Don't make your audience guess what you're selling, or think it's obvious they'll understand the value behind your product or service. Ad campaigns need to be delivered in ways that entertain, inspire, or educate your audience, rather than just selling to them.
  2. Knowing your Audience: Your advertising materials need to be relevant to your audience. This one should be more common sense, but lots of businesses leave out qualified segments, or have a disconnect between the audience they're trying to target and the materials they're producing.
  3. Appropriate Ad Placement: Similar to knowing what your audience finds relevant it is equally important to know where the best place to target them is. Facebook, Instagram, Google, YouTube? Based on your products and services our team works with you to determine which platform(s) will produce the most cost effective results for your business.
  4. Observing Trends: Advertising trends come and go quickly, so it's important to capitalize on them as they happen. Whether it's trending audio, a video overlay, or an AI generated voice over it's crucial to make use of what's been proven to connect with your audience.
  5. Consistency: This one is where a lot of businesses fall short. Effective advertising can take time and testing to get right. It also isn't a simple on/off switch where you get to retain all your momentum if you suddenly stop. Depending on your product or service customers might take a few or many touch points to convert, so it's crucial to be consistent with your timing and the quality of your advertising.

Establishing your goals

It's important to establish a clear set of goals for your campaign. Aside from the obvious 'sales or leads' based goals advertising can serve a few other purposes that all work together to generate sales.

  1. Awareness - An ad that might not promote a particular product or service your business offers but instead focuses on your business itself. For example, a display ad promoting that your business has the largest wheel and tire inventory in the area.
  2. Education - If you've got a complex/new product or service it could be necessary to educate your customer on certain details to successfully communicate it's value to them. For example, cast versus forged wheels.
  3. Engagement - If you're looking to build a following for your brand then engagement with your followers is absolutely crucial. Advertising with engagement in mind can take a few different forms like polls, contests, and giveaways.
  4. Website Traffic - While general website traffic might not translate directly into sales it's important to understand how visitors interact and engage with your website.
  5. List Building - Email lists can be one of your biggest marketing assets, simply because of how cost-effective email campaigns have become. They can be set up on short notice, tracked easily, and used repeatedly.

Display and video ads are the core of the advertising campaigns we manage. They'll appear on all major social platforms and search platforms relevant to your business. You'll receive comprehensive reporting on the results from your ads with metrics like:

How we measure results

  • CTR (Click-through rate) - This is the number of clicks generated per impression on your ads. It is reported as a percentage. For example, five people clicked per 100 impressions would generate a 5% CTR.
  • CPC (Cost per click) - This is the cost you've paid for each click. It can be a useful baseline metric to compare campaigns as it heavily impacts your ROAS.
  • CPA (Cost per action) - Sometimes referred to as cost per conversion or conversion rate this metric represents the total cost per action your campaign produced. For example, if your goal was to sell a certain product or service and 100 sold as the result of $500 in ad spend your CPA would be $5.
  • Impressions - Not to be confused with reach (below), impressions is the total number of times your ad is displayed. Keep in mind that an impression doesn't mean that someone took the time to read or view the ad - it just means it was displayed on a web page.
  • Reach - Reach represents the total number of unique people your ad was shown to. This number should always be lower than impressions since the ad can be shown to the same person multiple times (each time counts as an impression).
  • ROAS (Return on ad spend) - The most important metric - your end result. This measures the efficacy of your campaign by dividing your ad spend by the total revenue you've gained. For example, if your campaign booked 10 ceramic coating installs worth $1,000 each at the cost of $750 in ads your ROAS would be just over 1,300%.

Your campaigns are actively monitored, adjusted, and A/B tested with different versions to optimize them with current an accurate data. The more data driven optimizations we're able to make the better your ads will perform.

sMALL & mEDIUM BUSINESS

The advertising strategy you need depends largely on the goals and size of your business. For smaller businesses, we offer monthly campaign plans that target your local market. These are appropriate for detailers, vinyl wrap and PPF studios, performance shops without e-commerce, small dealerships, and similar businesses. These are offered at a fixed price to ensure they fit within your budget. These plans generally perform the best when combined with one of our social media management packages.

E-commerce & large business

For businesses with bigger advertising needs like large dealerships, parts manufacturers, and e-commerce operations advertising plans become more complex, and require more involvement, oversight and adjustments. In general, they also include multiple types of media like video, photo, email, and custom graphic design. These are all quoted on a case-by-case basis, but the good news is - its free to find out what an appropriate solution would cost.
